Product certification is a procedure by which you can show that products fulfil specified requirements.

Independent, third party certification is a procedure where tests and inspections will be carried out and certificates issued by an independent body. 

Certificates
INSTA-CERT certificate can be issued if requirements in documents GRC (General Certification Rules) and in SBC (Specific Certification Rules) are fulfilled.
INSTA-CERT certification is voluntary procedure.

GRC
GRC (General Certification Rules) describes INSTA-CERT certification procedure. GRC describes as well rights and obligations of certificate holder and INSTA-CERT.

SBC
SBC (Specific Certification Rules), written for each product, specifies requirements for products and inspections. They are based on standards or product specifications. In many cases requirements in SBCs are higher / stricter than those in product standards.
The rules are established in working groups, which consist of all interested parties, manufacturers, users, laboratories, inspectors etc. in order to develop rules according to market needs taking into account Nordic conditions.

SBC describes quality marks that can be used on products.
